Innocuous, Representative, Ilan Omar

By Debi Brand

You know, it is a darn good thing, we are, for the most part, a people not easily riled, neither derailed nor distracted from our daily schedules, neither stirred nor moved to action by that, which, probably, really, is, in truth, really none of our concern.

As in, say, take for example, when we see Muslims among us simply take the tenets of their faith system to heart. Evoke their guide. Boldly exercise just that.

Because if we were, details provided in a post today over at Jihad Watch just might disturb us. Details Robert Spencer relays concerning part of next month’s scheduled events for Freshman Congresswoman, Ilan Omar.

In the above-mentioned article, Spencer provides, next month, “Ilhan Omar will jet off to Los Angeles,” there, attend, contribute to, and “keynote a fundraiser for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a terror-tied organization….”

Also, prior to that, this month, as Robert relates, Congresswoman Omar “will speak at a fundraiser for Islamic Relief USA, the American branch of the terror-tied group Islamic Relief Worldwide.”

Now, if we were those easily-shaken from ease, then, when we read the above, we just might be tempted to think, and even worse yet (God forbid we go there …), conclude, the above sounds a bit troubling, to say the least.

Because, in what Spencer presents, it sounds as if Ilhan Omar is consorting and enmeshed with, thus mirroring the practices of, those who hold dear, thus practice and adhere to, the tenets of the way of the Alleged Arabian “Prophet.”

And for such reasons, she lends her shoulder, her voice, her funds, and her office to those who share her cherished tenets of faith.

Thus, she supports, incites, and incentivizes others to support, fund, and defend those who fight in the way of “Allah,” those who fight to make the “religion” of Muhammad supreme.

Thus, as Robert speaks to, therefore, “She will deliver her address alongside CAIR-Florida director Hassan Shibly, … a dedicated Islamist and bigoted gay basher.” A man who, as Spencer provides, is a known “fan of radical clerics.” A man who “regularly takes to social media to demonize the U.S. military as equivalent to the jihadi terrorists that they are fighting.”

Obviously, if Congresswoman Omar did not share the views, faith, and thus values of the other participants of this event, she would not be there hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, contributing to the cause with them.

But all that aside, should any of this truly trouble us?

Surely, in our present effort to show our alacritous effort to honor the way of the “Prophet of Islam” and those who follow that way, all this footwork and activity of Congresswoman Omar should, in fact, very likely hands-down does, just qualify her all-the-more for her seat in Congress, and all-the-more for security in the seat she holds in our Relations House Foreign Affairs Committee.
